You will be delighted when you know La Restinga National Park, a large lagoon with an extension of 10.700 hectares that joins the Macanao Peninsula in the east, with the rest of the Island. It is a lake plenty of bushes forming false islands separated by aquatic avenues and watercanals, with a large variety of birds and fishes, actually unique in Venezuela.

At La Restinga there is abundance of sea fans and shrub like black coral, typical of areas under the influence of gulf strams, oysters, variously colored
and shaped sponges, brain corals, multicolored fishes and barracuda banks. Diving sites are spectacular.You can go across the lake sailing on colored tourist boats, along 14 miles of beach front where many services are provided, including nice restorants with seafood, crab and lobster, shrinks, oysters, all fresh. This lagoon is one of the few places where ibis escarlata lives, a red feathered stork.

Mount El Copey National Park is located in Mariño County, with an extension of 7.130 hectares of wild forest and mountains, with small valleys and towns around it. It is very important for the Island from the enviromental point of view, because it constitutes the distribution center of the water dreinage for the whole island. In this park you will be able to practice and enjoy mountain tourism.
